I am the Founder and Principal Advocate of Palamanerian IP Services — an independent practice advising businesses, startups, innovators, professionals, and individuals on intellectual property, corporate matters, and general legal issues.
As an engineer-turned-IP attorney, I bring a background in computer science and engineering to every matter. That foundation enables me to understand the technical and commercial value of innovations — particularly in the information technology and technology-driven sectors — and to translate complex technical concepts into precise, enforceable legal protection. My advice is practical and business-focused, not merely procedural.
With over 13 years of experience as a registered Advocate and Patent Agent in India, my practice covers the full spectrum of intellectual property law alongside corporate advisory, contract drafting, and general legal services. I work with the same rigour on a startup's first patent filing as on a multinational's portfolio review — because the quality of the underlying legal work determines the value of the protection.

Solaiappan Odayappan is an Advocate enrolled at the Madras High Court, practising independently in Chennai.
